Tired of getting interrupted by unknown or spam callers? M1 gives you the option to silence calls from numbers not saved in your contacts. Instead of ringing your phone, these calls are quietly routed to your M1 voicemail - so you can stay focused without missing anything important.
What does this feature do?
When enabled, the Silence Unknown Callers feature automatically routes calls from numbers not in your contacts to your M1 voicemail. These calls won't ring your phone, but they'll be logged in your call history, and the caller can leave a voicemail.
How to enable Silence Unknown Callers:
Open the M1 app on your device.
Tap the Settings tab.
Scroll to Phone, then tap Silence Unknown Callers.
Toggle the switch to On.
ℹ️ Using a Shared Line? If you're on a "Shared Line" subscription (formerly known as our "Teams" plan), only the account owner - the person who pays for the subscription - can manage this setting. Team members invited to the inbox won't be able to turn it on or off.
What happens when it's enabled
Unknown calls are silenced: They won't ring your phone but go straight to your M1 voicemail.
Calls are logged: You'll still see these calls in your Calls list.
Known contacts still ring: Calls from saved contacts will ring normally.
This feature works independently of your AI Receptionist settings, which determine how missed calls are handled. You can combine both features to reduce interruptions and ensure important calls are still followed up.
How to disable Silence Unknown Callers:
Open the M1 app.
Tap Settings.
Scroll to Phone, then tap Silence Unknown Callers.
Toggle the switch to Off.
