M1 now helps you handle emails with the same ease as calls and texts. With Draft Email, your AI Receptionist can prepare a draft reply for each new, non-automated email thread. Drafts are stored in your email provider, ready for you to review, edit, and send when you're ready.

I. What is Draft Email?

Draft Email creates an AI-prepared reply for every new, non-automated email thread you receive. Instead of starting from scratch, you'll find a ready-to-edit draft directly in your Gmail or Outlook inbox.

This makes M1 a true responder across all channels - calls, texts, and now email - while still keeping you fully in control.

📍 M1 never sends emails on your behalf. Drafts are only saved in your inbox, and you decide if and when to send them.

II. Connect your email account

  • Open the M1 app on your phone.

  • Go to the Settings tab.

  • In the Phone section, tap AI Receptionist.

  • Scroll down to Draft Emails and toggle the feature on.

  • Tap Connect Account and choose Gmail or Outlook.

  • Sign in and grant access.

  • Once connected, you’ll see your account listed under Draft emails for.

If connection fails, you'll see an error message with the option to retry.

⚠️ Consent required

When you connect Gmail or Outlook, you'll see a box asking you to allow M1 to read your emails. Make sure to check this box - otherwise drafts cannot be created.

III. Customize Your Drafts

  • Draft Instructions: Provide guidance for how your AI should draft replies.

  • Signature: Add a custom closing line, such as "- Sent by Billie's AI Receptionist", to match your brand.

IV. How Draft Email works

  • Drafts per thread: A draft is created for the first message in every non-automated email thread.

  • Stored in your inbox: Drafts appear in Gmail or Outlook, never inside M1.

  • Always under your control: Drafts are suggestions only - nothing is ever sent without your approval.
