Once your AI Receptionist is set up, the next step is to train it with the right knowledge. This ensures it provides accurate and helpful responses to your callers. If you’ve enabled the Receptionist for both calls and texts, it will use the same knowledge base to answer in both channels.
Provide business details
➡️ Access your Receptionist settings:
Open the M1 app on your phone.
Go to the Settings tab.
In the Phone section, tap AI Receptionist.
At the top of the screen, tap Knowledge in the Tools list.
1. General details
Preferred name – how your Receptionist will refer to you when speaking to callers.
Company name – helps your Receptionist introduce who it's representing.
Industry – provides context so responses are tailored to your field.
Your role – shared if a caller requests your contact details.
Email address – included when callers ask how to reach you.
Website – provided to callers who want to learn more.
Company address – shared if location details are needed.
Business hours – sets the right expectations for callers.
2. FAQ
Add questions and their answers your Receptionist can provide when users ask during calls.
You can copy/paste FAQs from your website.
The more detail you provide, the more useful the Receptionist will be.
Keep this section updated regularly.
Don’t forget to press Save.
3. Custom knowledge
Add extra details to help your Receptionist better represent your business. (e.g., refund policy, delivery options, special services.)
Provide as much information as possible to cover common requests.
Keep this section updated.
Press Save when done.

4. Products & services
Add products or services so your Receptionist can share them.
Tap the + sign at the top right.
Enter a product or service name (e.g., Dry cleaning).
Optionally add a price, choose the currency, and select if it's per item, per hour, daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly.
Toggle whether pricing requires an invoice.
Add an optional description (e.g., Clearing clogged drains).
Press Save to add each product/service, and save again to confirm.
✅ That’s it! Your AI Receptionist is now trained and ready to represent your business.
