How do I forward my Google Voice number to M1?

Due to Google Voice’s two-factor authentication (2FA) requirements, verifying your M1 number via SMS is not supported. However, you can still forward calls from your Google Voice number by choosing to verify your number via a phone call instead. Follow the steps below to set up call forwarding from your Google Voice number to M1.

Step-by-step instructions

1. Open Google Voice settings

• On your computer or mobile browser, visit voice.google.com and sign in.

• In the left-hand menu, click Settings.

2. Add a linked number

• Go to the Account section.

• Under the “Linked numbers” section, click the “+ New linked number” button.

3. Verify your M1 number by phone call

• When prompted for verification, you may see options for text or phone verification.

⚠️ Important: Since M1 does not support SMS-based verification, choose the “Verify by phone” option.

• Google Voice will call your M1 number and read a 6-digit code.

• Answer the call on your M1 app, note the code, and then enter it on the Google Voice verification screen.

4. Confirm linked number activation

• Once verified, your M1 number will appear as a linked number in your Google Voice settings.

  • The toggle should be turned ON for your M1 number.

  • Make sure that other connected devices are all turned OFF for call forwarding.

5. Test Your Setup

• Use another phone to call your Google Voice number.

• Your call should be forwarded to your M1 number and ring on your M1 app.

This method only forwards voice calls from your Google Voice number to M1. Text messages are not forwarded. If you need SMS integration, you’d need to port your number.
