🖥️ M1 for Mac users

Whether you want to use M1 for calls and messaging or just to capture meeting notes on your computer, there are two ways to use M1 on macOS. Here’s a quick breakdown of what’s available:

App

Description

How to Get It

1️⃣ M1 Mac App

The full M1 experience on Mac: calls, texts, voicemail, summaries, and more.

2️⃣ M1 Desktop (M1D)

A lightweight tool that captures meeting notes from Zoom, Google Meet, Slack, and more.

Available only after linking your calendar in the M1 iOS app. You’ll get a direct download link.

1️⃣ M1 Mac App

You can download the M1 Mac App from the Mac App Store if your Mac has an Apple Silicon chip (M1, M2, or M3). It mirrors the iOS app experience, so you can call, text, view transcriptions, summaries, and more, right from your Mac.

📌 Note:

The M1 Mac App is only available on the Mac App Store in the US and Canada.

Supported Mac models:

M1 is compatible with the following Mac models featuring Apple Silicon chips:

  • MacBook Pro — Introduced in 2021 or later; 13-inch MacBook Pro (M1, 2020)

  • MacBook Air — Introduced in 2022 or later; MacBook Air (M1, 2020)

  • iMac — Introduced in 2021 or later

  • Mac mini — Introduced in 2020 or later

  • Mac Studio — Introduced in 2022 or later

  • Mac Pro — Introduced in 2023

📌 Note:

If your Mac uses an Intel chip, the M1 app will not be available for download on the App Store.

2️⃣ M1 Desktop (M1D)

M1D is a separate tool designed to automatically capture and summarize meetings across popular platforms like Google Meet, Zoom, Slack, and FaceTime.

  • Only available to users who link their calendar in the M1 iOS app

  • You’ll receive a personal link to download the installer (.pkg)

  • M1D runs quietly in the background and works across apps

❌ What about Windows or other PCs?

M1 is not currently available on Windows or other PC operating systems.

📆 Calendar support on M1 apps

M1 handles calendar integration differently depending on the version of the app you’re using:

📱 On the M1 iOS App and M1 Mac App (via App Store)

You can manually add events to your Apple Calendar (iCal) by tapping “Add to Calendar” on call summaries, voicemails, or voice notes.

However, there’s no full sync — M1 can’t view or display events from your iCal calendar. It can only add new ones.

🖥 On M1 Desktop (M1D)

This version of M1, used to capture and summarize Zoom, Slack, and FaceTime calls on Mac, supports full sync with Google Calendar only.

That means:

  • M1D can read your Google Calendar events

  • Notify you before scheduled events

  • Log notes and summaries for those meetings

🔒 Note: iCal is not currently supported for syncing via M1D.
